Looking for an enriching, life-changing internship opportunity?
Look no further than Camp Boggy Creek.

Camp offers a variety of internship opportunities designed to not only give you real first-hand non-profit experience, but to also enrich your life. Camp Boggy Creek exists to serve children with serious medical illnesses and provide them a life-changing camp experience.

We are currently offering internship opportunities in the following areas:

  • As a behavioral health intern, under the supervision of CBC’s year-round licensed mental health counselor, you will complete approximately 150 hours of behavioral health internship on-site and throughout camp. In this role, you can observe campers with complex medical needs as they interface during a Family Retreat Weekend. In addition, you will have an opportunity to learn behavioral techniques that support campers and their families and facilitate parent/guardian-centered activities.

This position is unpaid and largely observational educational experience. Most requirements will occur in person, and some will be done via Zoom. Your work will be completed and held to a high but attainable standard in this role. You will learn activities, procedural education, and interpersonal skills to support individuals and their behaviors better and support the ongoing mission of CBC.

    Eligibility

Sophomore Status and or 2nd year psychology, or closely related degree.

Completed undergraduate degree in Psychology or a very similar field.

Master-level degree in Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a very similar field

    Housing and Meals

Housing is available and accessible throughout the internship, not including when camp is not in session. Housing will be in our Staff Lodges, a dorm-style community living space with shared bathrooms, fresh linens, pillows, and towels.

Meals are included during all camp sessions (i.e., two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners) [Fall and Spring season]. CBC’s kitchen manager and staff can accommodate ANY dietary needs and restrictions. Our dining hall will have snacks and drinks 24/7 during a Family Retreat Weekend.

Due to the immersive nature of this experience, it is expected interns are on-site at designated start and end times. Housing and meals are included at no cost to the intern; however, the intern's responsibility is transportation to and from camp.
