Camper Alumni Spotlight: Meet Kelly
Finding Inspiration and Empowerment at Camp Boggy Creek!
At Camp Boggy Creek, we witness incredible stories of bravery, growth, and empowerment from our campers on a daily basis. One such inspiring story comes from a dedicated camper alumni and Girl Scout, Kelly Wolf, who chose our camp as the focus to complete her Girl Scouts Gold Award project.
Initially hesitant with the challenge of choosing a project for her Girl Scouts award, she soon realized that she wanted nothing more than to give back to the place that had given her so many cherished memories. With the unwavering support of her family, including her mother and grandparents who lent their helping hands, she poured her heart and soul into creating a sensory trail on the concrete portions of the Trail of Joy for campers to enjoy.
Having been a Girl Scout for 13 years, she had seen the impact of her mom’s and sister’s involvement of their own projects, and she was determined to leave her own mark at Camp Boggy Creek. Her first experience at Camp was met with trepidation as a first-time camper, but as time passed, she found herself falling in love with the camp community and the friendships she forged.
Now, as a dedicated volunteer and advocate for our camp, she continues to spread awareness about the transformative power of Camp Boggy Creek. Her hope is that those who walk the trail will find a moment of peace, authenticity, and freedom from judgment.
We are immensely grateful for her dedication, her family's unwavering support, and the beautiful legacy she has left behind at Camp Boggy Creek. Her story is a shining example of the countless ways in which our campers and supporters inspire us every day.
Thank you for being a part of our Camp Boggy Creek family and helping us create a positive and empowering environment for all who walk through our gates.
