Camp’s President and CEO, Dr. Dan Jurman, describes how Campers feel when they spend time at Camp Boggy Creek. You see these three words all over Camp: safe, respected, and loved. Those words truly describe the environment that is created here for Campers.

“For kids who are struggling with a serious illness, they don’t feel safe,” the goal of Camp is to make every child feel a sense of safety away from their day to day struggles. Camp is a unique place where children with serious illnesses can step away from the clinical spaces they are usually surrounded by. When they come to Camp they get to, just be a kid, and not focus on their medical challenges.

At Camp, every child is respected. They are not judged for their medical differences. These kids get to meet other kids, just like them. This is an amazing place to bond with peers who understand their unique experiences, and build a community with others in order to no longer feel alone.

Every child is loved here. Everyone that works and plays at Camp deeply values and enjoys this place. By having people who embrace the spirit of joy work and volunteer here, the love is shown throughout all of the magical moments that are created at Camp.
